Musicians and non-musicians alike can incorporate music with literature-based programs. The book includes eight story program lesson plans, such as Animal Fair, Boogie-Woogie Barnyard, May I Have This Dance, and School Talent Show.

Specific picture books are paired up with songs, and there are lists of Call-and-Response Songs, Cumulative Songs, and Songs Sung in Rounds.
